Hello everyone! Been a long time since I posted here and since I played the game. I just wanted to know this because having played this game for just over 3 years I really wanted to have the songs from eye of the north and factions. Some of the best orchestral music ever in my opinion.

The thing is I have never purchased a thing from directsong and I have heard recently that the downloader does not function anymore, can anyone give me any insight on this?

We've recently been in contact with the administrators of DirectSong, and to our knowledge they are still offering downloads and report nothing out of the ordinary in terms of being able to provide downloads. If you have any specific questions about the downloader, please contact their customer support team and they'll help you out. :-)

I've been having problems with Direct Song installers lately also... in the past, I could use them with no problem. I have no problem downloading the installer, only using it. I've sent about 10 messages to Direct Song about this issue over the last five months or so, and haven't even got as much as a reply yet. =(
I'm starting to feel as if my money was wasted on Direct Song... their support team has made no attempt whatsoever to help me.

Well, I've had problems with DirectSong too for like a year now. But when I read this thread (the one zillionist thread about this problem) I think I'll give it another shot, and it worked! I could download the whole package, then did what their readme.txt said, and when I played my first number all I had to do was register it and everything works fine now! I've also send their support several mails but never with response etc. Maybe Regina bitchslapped them :P.

I wouldn't say I did that... :-P I did have a member of our business team contact them with a link to a forum thread, and ask what was going on. The reply was that there are no current issues on their end. So if you are experiencing any problems, please do contact DirectSong customer support.

So I guess that is why I get this:

The DirectSong server could not be reached.
Please check your internet connection and try again.
Error Message - 11010 [ ip req timed out ] - This error means that you either have lost your internet connection or that you are behind a firewall.

And why I still have no response from the customer support form I submitted at the beginning of the year? Direct Song is a 100% rip-off. Hopefully the people running this company will end up being put out of business or thrown in jail for stealing from their customers.

For some kind of reason when I downloaded it earlier today it didn't go with some kind of "Downloader" I had the past times. That downloader also only worked for me once, few years ago, but since almost a year ago it never worked. But when I logged in on the site I was able to just download the package directly from the site instead of first downloading some kind of program and then having that program failing to contact the server. When I had to package downloaded I had to execute some simple tasks that were included in their readme.txt and everything worked fine.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my problem its well apreciated. Thats to everyone who replied as well, really helpful.

I guess I'll attempt to make a purchase then and report back here if theres any issue. (After consulting the directsong support of course.)
